They have been here 6 months now at Casa de Esperanza. They still have a hard time and want to go to Jovenes y Camino at times but they called that place home for 2 and half years. I pray that with time they continue to be more settled here at Casa.
What matters most to me is to finish what God started: the job the Master Jesus gave me of letting everyone I meet know all about this incredibly extravagant generosity of God. Acts 20:24

Brian
My brother decided that he wanted to spend his break from Harding this summer here with me and Dorian and to be able to help out in whatever way he could to lighten things up at Casa. He came the second weekend in May and just left this past weekend. He has became part of this place and was a HUGE help. I don't think he quite knew what he was getting himself into until he got here. He was amazing, helping in all aspects. Helping get the kids up and ready for school every morning, to helping take Rosy to school sometimes and picking her up, and helping run the store and get things priced and even helping with homework.
He quickly grew to love the kids and likewise the kids quickly learned to love him, listen, and respect him.
So thank you Brian for giving of yourself and helping us out here in more ways than you will know!

classes
So today might just be the first day since June that things are back to normal here. When I say normal I mean as normal as things can be with all of this chaos still going on.
The kids ALL have class today!!!!!!! The kinder and 1st -5th and also Rosy! It feels so good to have them all in school at the same time and for them to actually get out today at the normal time. If they have been having class it is only 1st and3rd or only 5th and 2nd and then they get out of class early. Let's hope that today is just the start of a normal week of classes, I know it is wishful thinking but hey you never know.

no school
So the kids didn't have school today! Not that is anything new or different. With all of the this political mess, there seems to be amount of uncertainy every day.
We have to call the director or the teachers almost nightly to find out if there is classes the next day. The schoolagers had three days of classes last week and it looks like they might have classes this week Wed-Fri, but I will not be holding my breath on that one.
The kinder did not have school all last week. Today we had a short meeting in the Kinder to only assign homework and to find out that there is no classes all week and hopefully by next Monday there will be classes.
Rosy luckily has not missed too many classes because she is in a private school in Teguc. She still has missed classes due to different marches and such but not nearly as many as the kids here in the public school.
So we continue to wait hoping that someday classes will be back to normal. But then again here in Honduras I am not too sure the word "normal"exsists.
happy birthdy rosy!!!!!
Happy 10th Birthday Rosy
Rosy has been waiting so long for it to be her b~day. Well the day finally arrived and let me tell you she was one happy girl! She was so excited for it to be her day and be all about her. She loved every minute of it. I am sure soon she will start asking again how long til her bday for next year. She turned the big 10!!!! The kids had sweet corn on the bonefire to celebrate her bday! It was something different that they had never done but they loved it!!!

July Newsletter 2009
July 2009
I spent the first week in July back in the states having the opportunity to attend and celebrate a friend's wedding. Life here in Honduras continues to be unstable. The children here have been attending school maybe half of the month. Their school is on one day and off the next with so many marches and protests taking place.
Dorian is getting ready to finish up another semester of college and before long he will be on break for a while. He continues to work with the church in Santa Ana. Dorian has recently got some new interns from Baxter that help him on weekends. The church has experienced two baptisms this month, which is always awesome. These baptisms are so encouraging to witness as people wanting to change their lives and live for HIM.
Honduras as a nation is unsure and unstable. There are numerous marches in Tegucigalpa that makes travel there uncertain at best. We here at Casa de Esperanza are safe but the situation could escalate at any time.
Dorian and I wait and pray for Honduras. This last month has been hard on us personally financially and times we stress over finances. A donation showed up just when we needed it and then we wonder why we ever worry or stress. Thank you, Lord. We continue to seek donations, either one time or ongoing so that we can continue to serve these people for Him. Please pray that the tension in Honduras ends soon, as it is preventing many from serving the poor.
Blessings~
