What matters most to me is to finish what God started: the job the Master Jesus gave me of letting everyone I meet know all about this incredibly extravagant generosity of God. Acts 20:24

Dentist
Last week a dental team came here to Casa to speak to the kids about dental hygiene.
They usually do this at the local schools here in Santa Ana but due to the political situation they got out of school early so they decided they would ask if they could do it here with the kids!
The kids learned properly how to brush their teeth. So now when we go to brush out teeth the girls are sure to watch one another to make sure they are brushing correctly.
On another note Ana went with to the dentist this week and we knew she had a few cavities and came to find out she had 12! So I am going to start watching more carefully when they are brushing their teeth and make sure they are not eating their toothpaste, brushing for 10seconds, or wiping their toothpaste on someone else. They are usually the things that happen with the girls when it comes to brushing their teeth. There is never a dull moment!

Nicaragua
This past weekend we got to take a short trip to see Dorian's family in Nicaragua. We actually got to drive which made things much faster and comfortable. It took about 5 hours driving to get to his mom's house.
We left on Friday and were back early Sunday. So we only got to spend all day Saturday with them. It was a much needed visit. It had been over a year since I had been there to visit his family.

oct update
October was a very busy month here at Casa. One of our boys; Brayan cut his arm at school and we were very much the "scared parents". It is so hard to see them scared and in pain and not be able to fix it. He is now doing well. The children finished up their school year this month as with all the unrest, it was not going to get any better. There were almost no weeks where all the children went five days straight. Hopefully we can work with them during their time off to improve their skills. We still have classes at Teleton with the kids thru the first week of December and then everyone will be on break.
Dorian had a special service at church where some of the community and those from the church gathered and worshiped until midnight. The Casa children loved this and believe it or not they all stayed awake the entire time. But they did not sleep in the next morning as hoped. Dorian continues with his schooling and helping around Casa. We are preparing to take in some new children soon in our new dormitory. That is always exciting and challenging.
During October we got a water purification system installed by some people from Indiana and now the whole house has purified water. There were three national holidays celebrated in October and then the government called another one after Honduras made it to the world cup.
World Cup soccer is a major topic all over the country. Hondurans love their soccer!! Honduras recently played against El Salvador. Honduras won 1-0, but they were dependent on the outcome of the United States that played that same night Costa Rica to determine if they could go to the World Cup. And then, just as soon as the Honduran game finished, the United States scored to end in a tie for their game, which allowed Honduras to qualify. So many people were thankful to the States to make their come-back. The news was full of people saying, “thank you U.S.A.” Quite a turn-around as well as a bit ironic and funny.
It was such a big deal that, shortly after the game, the President appeared on the TV with the announcement that the following day would be a vacation for all federal employees. He encouraged private businesses to give their employees time off, also. The end of October we were told that an agreement had been reached with our government here. Not sure if it will hold or not. Be praying as elections are to be held the end of November.
We will be traveling to Ohio the first of December and I am hoping for snow. Continue to pray for us as we continue to be His hands and feet here in Honduras.
Blessings~
Dorian and Karen Guido
