What matters most to me is to finish what God started: the job the Master Jesus gave me of letting everyone I meet know all about this incredibly extravagant generosity of God. Acts 20:24

More rain
We continue to see rain every day. There are many who are suffering and have lost everything they own. Several have died due to landslides falling on their houses. Everyday the pictures I see in the newspaper just make me feel for these people. The little of everything many have soon becomes nothing. Here in Santa Ana we are fine. Just lots of mud and water.

Youth Group hospital visit
The Santa Ana youth group has for some time now been collecting toys and such to take to hospital escuela. I think it has been almost if not longer then a year that they have been collecting. Well two weeks ago they finally got to go and deliver the goodies that they have been collecting and see the joy on so many faces.
They got to share lots with the women in the maternity ward. Lots of newborn babies!

Got a call Friday morning a group of about 10 would be coming in the afternoon to visit with the kiddos. I didn't get too many details, but it was such a blessings to the kids. The Vega Church of Christ brought about 10 people out to have a devo with the kids, play games and share their love and time with them. The kids love it!
The played hot potato and the one stuck with the potato had to pass in front of everyone and do whatever they told them to do.

Youth Group cookout
After all of the planning, hard work and preparation for the youth rally that was held in June we had a cookout for them to tell them thank you for all of their hard work.
Not only the youth but some of the ladies in the church helped out a lot in preparation also.
Now it is on to planning the 2nd annual youth rally in Santa Ana/Ojojona!!

June and July 2010 Update
June & July 2010
June marked five years since Casa de Esperanza opened it's doors. Quite an achievement of which I am proud to be a part of. June started off with the youth rally with the church here in Santa Ana and Ojojona hosting. It was the first youth rally that either had done and it went very well. Some of our Casa children are now old enough to be part of the youth group here in Santa Ana. A few of them were an active part in fund-raising and planning the youth rally.
June and July has been busy busy with lots and lots of groups. Most of the groups coming here to Casa worked on the new soccer field. The kids love it! It is still not finished all the way but they are able to play on it.
The kids love having the groups here. There was lots of new and some old faces. The kids love that they get to reconnect with old faces yet get to meet new ones and form new bonds. Thank you to all of you who loved on our kiddos. I know there are several of you who left pieces of you heart here at Casa de Esperanza.
With the groups being here we have had amazing sales in our Casa store. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who help support Casa. It is truly appreciated!
Dorian continues to take classes and the end of July he took his exams to finish up the quarter. Another anniversary occurred in July with the church here in Santa Ana celebrating five years. It seems like yesterday that I was here on a second mission trip, laying block for the church and we had our first communion out in the rain. Little did I know then that I would be the minister's wife of that very church.
Please pray for Dorian and me as there are times we get overwhelmed and wonder if we could be doing more or if we are even where God wants us. Pray that we will always be led by Him and not our own desires.
Blessings~

Sickness
After two weeks of the kids being sick with colds and achy with fevers I think we are finally over all of their sicknesses. It passed through about half of the kids. I am just hoping that it has stopped. Luckily none of the staff got what all of the kids had. Not too sure how we managed that.
Thanks for all of the prayers and for all of you checking in on us!

Happy Birthday Rosy!!!
There was problems with the cake so we made a cake! She loved it! Although knowing the cake didn't not get delivered she was quite worried and kept asking me where the cake was. I told her that there was a surprise but she still seemed quite sad and worried about her cake. Although when she saw the cake she loved it, and lit up!!!

Super Mom!
Back to back this week we had two days we were short staffed. It was in these moments I was thinking I really wish I could just be super mom!
The laundry needed done, cooking all three meals for 17 kiddos, cleaning, getting the kids ready, doing homework, showers, bedtime, and etc....!
Usually my day just consists of taking care of the kids! I don't have to worry about cooking and cleaning. I usually do some cleaning and organizing, but as for cooking not so much.
Stacey and I spent Monday here and there and scrambling to get everything done before the kids got home from school. Stacey cooked and I did laundry, cleaning, and watching the kids. One staff member was at a Teleton training for Casa and the other was at the hospital with a sick child.
About 4pm Dilcia showed up to work! Breath of fresh air for sure! It made me appreciate them all the more!

A good laugh
There never seems to a be a dull moment around here. This morning when I went to wake up the kids I noticed in the boys bedroom there was 4 window slats that had been broken during the night. Dilcia was on night shift last night and she began to tell me that around midnight last night she heard a big boom and the glass from the window breaking. The first thing Dilcia thought was someone was trying to break in or someone was just having fun and throwing rocks at the windows. She was scared as she thought someone was trying to enter the house. She layed in bed and waited to hear something more. She said her heart raced and raced.
About 15 minutes later Antonio came in to Dilcia's room to tell her that Brayan had fallen out of his bed. Not only did he fall out of the top bunk but on the way down manged to hit the window breaking 4 window slats. He is ok and is a little sore and only has a few scratches. Thank you Lord nothing more happened to him.
Let's hope tonight everyone stays in their beds!
