Didasko/Housing Building

This is the family that we built onto their house for them. Mancho had helped build the childrens home and he is such a hard worker. What a blessing it was to beable to give something to him and his family. He was continually thanking God. Above is the house the family was currently living in we just bulit on from there and gave them a house double the size. My sweet buddy Brian from Didasko. Too cute! By the way Marc McKain your buddy Junior says hello and that he is waiting on a letter.
We built a house for a family in Santa Ana and the there children to the left are the ones that we bulit the house for and other little guy was just a friend. Seeing what they lived in and that they didn't really have much the still had smiles on their faces and full of joy.
This is my new buddy at Didasko, his name is Brian. Another one of the children had cut his foot with a machete the day before we came. So while all of the other chilldren were playing and interacting with all of us he was having to lay in this bench. So I came to his rescue and got him some candy and toys and became buddies quick.

Monday we spent the afternoon at another childrens home, Didasko. Rick wanted to go see his Norma and love on her. I think that it was good for both of them. Then Tuesday we spent the day building a houes in Santa Ana for a sweet family. Then we have been spending the rest of our time at the childrens home painting. I will put pics on here soon on how it all looks.

Today we set aside some time to dedicate the childrens home. We worked most of the day sanding the stucco, cleaning up trash on the property, and other odds and ends jobs. Chicken was bought for all of the workers today for lunch in appreciation for all that they have done thus far and are going to do on the childrens home. It has been so good to see everything coming together piece by piece. God is good and He continually provides for each and every little thing. Also we painted the outside of the childrens home yesterday and it looks really good. Next week we will hopefully paint all of the inside and get the odds and ends of tile put together.

Sweet lil Dennis who is our little helper. His dad is the block maker and he is there everyday. Also he has such a sweet mom who has come to be such a sweet friend.

My dad and some other great friends from home got here safe yesterday. From the airport we took them straight to the childrens home. They spent alot of time just soaking it all up and prosessing it all that they were seeing. But it is good to have them here with us and we can share these good moments and memories with them. Progress on the childrens home is still coming along. Yesterday they were working on the elec, windows, roof, and tile. Today we are going to start painting. So little by little it is coming together.

We went out to Santa Ana for a little bit today after we picked Tim and the boys up from the airport. Things are still coming along. This Wednesday there are two people from the states coming in to lay the tile. We picked up the tile today and had a rough time getting it to Santa Ana but it got there eventually. Also they are still working on the roof and welding it together. They have poured almost all of the floor so the floor will be ready for the people when they come to lay the tile. They are working on putting the last layer of stucco on. In the pictures you will see that there is one wall that has the final stucco coat on it and it looks really good. They were also putting the electrical boxes in the walls today and just other little things. It is coming along. It will be neat to actually see the roof and the floor done. Hopefully within the next week both of those will be done. I know that you all are anxiously awaiting more construction pictures, so here ya have it......

Nueva Oriental...Building a House

The day after Thanksgiving the Kluge's along with the rest of their family that had came in and a few of us went to Nueva Oriental to build a house. The house they were currently living in was made of wooden palets and plastic. So when we first arrived on the site we had to tear down the exsiting house. Which didn't take to much time at all. Then we were there for a good part of the day building the house. The chainsaws that we had were not being very cooperative so it slowed us down a little. We had lots of kids who were willing to help whether carrying boards or nailing a nail. One little kid Oscar was helping me with nailing. He got the hang of it and before long it only took him like 3 hits to get the nail it. That is him in the picture above nailing the floor boards down.
Also in the one picture you will see where the kids were sliding down a hillside. They had taken old pop bottles and were sliding down the hillside on them.
As always experiences like that have a way of lifting your spirit. The joy on the ladies face that we built the house for was beaming. She was hugging all of our necks and saying thank you over and over and God bless you. The day she was approached and was asked if she wanted a house built for her she started crying not believing what she was hearing. What a blessing this house will be to her and her family.

A sweet reminder

Just a sweet reminder......how can you look into those eyes and say no?!?! Just want you to know that is the way God looks at you. He looks into your eyes and can't help but say yes, but the only question is are you willing to reach out and say yes back to Him. The choice is up to you.

More Pics of Casa

Here are a few more pictures for you all to see and see where the progress of the childrens home is. Things are slowly moving along but at least they are moving. They were suppose to be doing the roof today. Although the guy was there today to do it, so I guess that will be on next weeks agenda. They are still working on stuccoing the walls. Also next week I am assuming they are going to start pouring the floor.

Hey wanted to let you all know that the construction is going along on the childrens home. They are stuccoing the walls this week and putting on the roof. Things are moving along. Sorry that I don't have pictures to put on here but i forgot my camera the other day when we went out to Santa Ana. It should be up and going for the opening in Decemeber. There is alot to do but I know that it will all come toegether. Me and Jen also went shopping for tile this week for the home and that was quite an experience. Seeing we speak next to none spanish. Although we managed to go to three shops and got estimates and all. So they are probably going to be laying the title next week. We are looking for anyone that is good at laying and cutting title that could come down here and lay it. If anyone would volunteer their time their ticket would be bought and they would be put up for free. So if anyone is interested let me know. Send me an email or leave me a comment on here.
Me and Jen having been on our own the last couple of days in the city. We are doing very well with getting around and learning where everything is. Jen is having to do all of the driving right now b/c I still haven't learned how to drive a stick. It will come. We have been going to lanugage training for 2hours a day and we are learning alot but it is alot to take in. Just like everything else "We'll learn".

Prince of Peace Childrens Home

These are some of the kiddos that I spent the week with that became very near and dear to my heart. There is a story for each and everyone of them. God is blessing and working in their lives. What they have been thru and the way that they act it unbeilevable. God has had His hand in their lives.


Well just got back here at the Hines(which so much feels like home) after spending a week out at the childrens home. It was a great experience and gave both of us so much insight into what we are going to be doing. There were some good moments loving on those kiddos and then there were times when times when I was unsure how all of this was going to play out. I was thinking ok Lord you are going to have to get me thru this because as always I am not too sure how I am going to do this. But as I have said over and over again God is faithful and will continue to prove himself faithful to us. There are times of doubt but I have to continually remind myself that God is in control and it will all work out from start to finish.
Me and Jen most of the week worked with little babies. Oh how precious but our hearts got attached oh so quick. When it was time to leave yesterday it was not the easiest thing. But we are going to have to be getting use to that. We are going to have children coming in and out of our home. I want to love on them while I can reguardless! Even if my heart hurts when they have to leave. I will rest at knowing they were loved on and showed Jesus while they were in my home. That is just another thing that I am going to have to add to my list that God is going to have to take care of.
To see the way the God was working in this childrens home was amazing! Each and every child that was there has been thru extreme cases of trauma. From seeing their mom lined up and raped and shot by gang members in front of them and then the children were stabbed and left for dead, living with their mom in jail, being sexual abused, and being swung around by their hair till it fell out. The stories could go on. The thing is God is healing each and everyone of these children. They are put in a wonderful home where I saw that they were loved on and shown Jesus. To see the healing and deliverance is amazing. May God continue to heal those broke hearts and bless lives abundantly for His kingdom.
Please be praying for the decisions that me and Jen are having to make. Pray that we will have the wisdom that we need to make choices that are honoring. Thank you all so much for your support.

Construction

The construction at Santa Ana is coming along. Although as always things here in Honduras don't always go the way you plan, and so they are a little behind on the construction. Although by the end of the week they said that all of the blocks will have been laid. So now that they got things going they are moving along quite fast. Before long these sweet lil kiddos will be laying their head on a pillow at night, having food to put in their bellies, and mommas to love them. This is going to be some good stuff. God is continually good and continues to work in Big ways.

We're here......

Just wanted to let you all know that me and Jen made it here safe on Saturday. We went out to the property yesterday and it makes me smile so big. Excited for all that is going to happen there in the childrens home. In about a month we will be loving on some sweet kiddos necks. What a joy this brings to my heart.
I will soon post some pics of how the consrtuction is going along.

Not good bye forever

The youth minister and his family has accepted another job and today was there last Sunday. For alot of us this is the last time that a lot of us will see them for awhile. At the end of services we sung "When we all get to heaven." What a wonderful reminder that this is not good -bye. For those of us who believe we don't have to say good bye forever. We will one day live forever in heaven with each other. As my time approaches for me to leave soon, this was such a wonderful reminder that i am not saying good bye to so many whom i love. "When we all get to heaven we will Sing and Shout"......and i am so sure that there is much more that we will be doing. I can't wait!

Purity

I was challenged tonight to be a woman of purity. So many times we are so good at fooling others and, putting on a show. We are good at letting people see only what we want them to see. Little do they know all of the gunk that we put into ourselves. We tend to feed ourselves to many things of the world. Take a moment and think of the things you fill you life with. What kind of music are you listening to? What TV shows are you watching? What movies are you watching? Are the things you are putting into your life polluting it or nuturing it? I know I am beyond guilty of filling my life with things that are weighing me down. I become so in the rountine of watching this or that and the next thing you know satan has you right where he wants you.
What the world doesn't tell you is the hurt and pain you will experience from all of the gunk you put in your life. The inside is truely what matters. I have seen people that are shining and you can't help but notice something different about them. I truely believe that when you are nurturing the heart that you can't help but shine on the outside. There is an outward beauty that can't be missed.
Quit letting satan win...take a stand and make committment to be a person of purity!

The greatest friend you'll ever have

I am blessed in so many ways. God has given me so many friends and family that i am blessed to have in my life. It is so hard on me as time creaps up on me and i will be leaving for Honduras soon. They have all played such a vital part in my life and have helped me to become the person that i am today. I find my self treasuring each and every moment that i spend with them. I just don't understand why we get so close to others and then it hurts when we have to leave them. I just wish that it could be easier to me. As for now i just treasure the time spent with them and know that God will help me get thru all of the transitions. There is always one friend that is there beside me no matter where i go, what i have done......JESUS. He is by far the greatest friend that anyone could have. He is there to pick you up, dry your tears, listen to you for hours, and best of all love you unconditionally. I am glad that although i may not always be the greatest friend He is there waiting on me even when i may turn my back on Him. For that i am beyond thankful. I know that with a friend like that i will be able to get thru anything.
Thank you each and everyone of you that has helped me to become the person that i am today. Beyond blessed to have you in my life!

I'm back

I am back in the Ohio after spending a week in Honduras. I got to see the property where I soon will be living. Beyond excited for all that is to come. Seeing the property put things even more into prospective and made things seem even more real. I am really doing this!!! The place where i will be living and rasing these children is wonderful . It is a beautiful piece of property, it reminds me of a tropical rain forest. Flowers, fruit trees, chickens, and a horse all on the property. (well i am not too sure that there would be chickens and a horse in a rain forest but you get the point) There is life everywhere on the piece of land, and there are not many places in Honduras that are full of life. While I was there we had groud breaking for the orphange. It don't think that i can even begin to fathom or know all that God is going to do with this piece of land. Right now they are working on the duplex housing. This week i think that they are going to dig and pour the foundation for the orphanage. While i was there I spent every day but one working there on the property building the church on the property. Those who worked on the Santa Ana site earned extreme buff truck shirts. We were trucking it and putting it into high gear every day. Although the good news is that the church is up and built. All in one week we got the landed cleared, foundation dug and poured, and the blocks layed. The floor was also poured and the roof and the windows and doors where suppose to be put in the day i flew back, Saturday. Just seeing it all come together and become a reality makes me excited. Plans are under way for the artisian center for me Esperanza on the property. The clinic was to start being furnished. God is good! i know that He is going to continue to provide and piece things together one by one. I am just praying that self may not get in the way and that all fo the glory goes to Him. Continue to pray for the journey ahead. We are still needing money to build the oprhange. If there is any way at all that you can help let me know.
