Two of our ladies woke up at 2:30am to it and were pretty scared one of them was actually crying and not too sure what was happeneing. And then there is me, well I slept right thru it and didn't even know we had one til my mom called to check on us this AM!
Thank for all of the prayers and concerns!

Pamela

So Pamela's foot seems to be healed for the most part. The crutches are put away and she has went to school the last two weeks without crutches. It is just walking on the back of her foot now, she does not want to put too much pressure on it.
Pamela does not like to put on closed toe shoes because it hurts the back on her foot somewhat where it rubs where she had the operation. So she has been wearing a pair of heels instead to school because she does not want to put on her black closed school shoes. You got me!!! Not too sure how she can walk in heels but I am just happy she is finally walking and pain free!
So thank you for all of your prayers.

Today was the kinder celebration and Teleton celebration. Tomorrow is the school celebration(pics to come) and then Rosy has her celebration on Friday at Manos Felizes.
So HAPPY HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all of you mothers out there!

Update April 09

April 2009

April started off very hot and nap times were difficult because of the warmth in the bedrooms. The children took to lying on the cool ceramic tile floor. Along with the heat came lots of fires and almost daily one could see smoke wherever you traveled. Dorian and I had a time of physical and spiritual refreshing by getting to spend time with the Belpre mission group. These are from my home church and it was so awesome to spend time with those who encourage us. On a sad note, a very special couple, Bryan and Joyce Foreman were unable to come with Belpre group due to illness and death of Bryan's mother. Joyce and Bryan are special loved ones to both Dorian and myself and we were grieved at their loss and hoping that they will be able to visit sometime this summer.
The children took their first exams at the end of April, so things have been extremely busy studying with the children for their exams. Dorian also took his exams and he is on break until mid May.
We also have a new family who have moved into Casa to work at the new house. Siomara and her kids came here to casa mid April. Right now we are just in trial period, but we pray that they will work out and we will be able to take in some more children. I can hardly wait until we have more children with homework!
We also had our yearly inspection this month. All seemed to have went well! The inspector from Children's Services said only had good things to say. Just need to get updated on some of our shots for the kids but we have already taken care of that.
There appears to be some internal power struggles in Honduras so please keep this country and their people in your prayers and please continue to keep Dorian and myself in your prayers. Thanks for all support!

Blessings~

Strike and Rain

So the rainy season has started I believe. Last night we remembered what it was like to have leaks in our house! We had to unplug a few things and move the couch to keep from getting wet.
So please just remember all of those who live on a little muddy hillside and such as rainy season starts. I get so annoyed by it and we live in a nice, dry, tiled floor.
Although on the good side we really really need this rain. Everything is super dry here and there are fires every where right now. With rainy season coming that also means the bugs come out. We have these huge looking beetles that come out every May. In the past week I have seen a few of them and am already dreading these critters taking over.
The teachers are also on strike right now waiting to hear from the president to change things. Well as of right now Monday no school, Tues. no school and looks as if tom no school either. We are waiting for them to announce it on the news at 9pm tonight. So waiting.........
This just takes so much away from the kids when they could be learning.

Please continue to remember to be praying for this country!

Brayan

Growing up on us fast!!! He has recently asked to be active in the youth group here in Santa Ana. He will be turning 12yrs old this year! He is doing better more and more all of the time with his anger and learning to control it. I am just praying that God gives me a huge over abundance of wisdom as they got through their teenage years!!!
