water fun

This was a rare occurance the other day all 15 of the kids were playing together without fighting amoungest themselves. Brayan had found some ballons and it started with just a couple of them filling them with a little water and passing them back and forth amoungest themselves faster and faster until the exploded. Before long it was all 15 of the kids and álso Siomaras girls playing. They played I think for two straight hours in the afternoon. Now for any of them to sit still this long or even all play together without getting in a fight is a pretty big thing. The better thing was it was not even an activity we had planned it was something they did themselves. It made this heart happy just to see all of them coming together and playing without fighting!

school

After being out of school for three weeks the kids went back to school today. Although there is no school tomorrow and Friday there is suppose to be classes and by Monday they hope for things to be back to normal, well at least as normal as possible with all of this mess here in Honduras.
Kinder has not started back to school yet they are to start back on Monday. There was a meeting today in the school and also in the kinder. The teachers reassured us that they kids would not lose the school year and they were going to try their best to finish out the end of the school year. Although right now with the government there is just so many unknowns. The teachers all seemed to want to inform us of what has and what is going on here in Honduras. They read to us the constitution and the amendments. So a little more informed still unsure of what parts to believe in all of this mess. I just want there to be peace.....................
So continue to pray for this country and the hearts of those who are leading.

June update 2009

June 2009

June has been a difficult month for all of us here in Honduras. The children suffered from a virus that they passed around and even shared with some of our workers. Some of the children were sick for almost two weeks. The political situation continues to be one of unrest and instability. We continue to wait and pray to see what happens next. As a result of the political unrest, the children have been off from school and Dorian's college classes have also been canceled a lot. The children do not understand what is going on in Honduras, and to them, it is just a vacation.
Lots of groups visited Casa the first few weeks of June and kids always love when they are able to meet new people and reconnect with some they have met before. With the groups visiting, we have had great support at our Casa store. Just this month we have got some of the items for sale online. You can shop and help support Casa at www.casastore.blogspot.com. Please check the website often for new items added.
I left mid June for the states for a friend's wedding and to get some rest. And it turns out that this might be a good time to be out of Honduras with the unrest there and uncertainty of who if anyone is in charge. The bad news is that I am separated not only from the children but my husband Dorian. My brother Brian is also at Casa, and he and Marc Tindall and Dorian are keeping Casa running. Please pray from everyone's safety that remains there to serve.

Blessings~
Dorian & Karen Guido
